August, die she must

August 21, 2014

It’s funny, I always thought of August as being the height of summer.

I felt disappointed when the sunny days didn’t come. And I greeted Autumn with a hint of excitement, mixed with a feeling of loss for Summer.

What I hadn’t realised, and what just occurred to me, is that Summer is also June and July. And those are often the warm, sunny days.

It’s so easy to miss them, or take them for granted because August is round the corner, but actually that August you long for may never come.

This is a reminder for me today to savour the Junes and Julys.

Those moments when you think you’re not quite where you want to be, but actually you are, and sometimes that’s all there is.

April come she will

When streams are ripe and swelled with rain;
May, she will stay,
Resting in my arms again

June, she’ll change her tune,
In restless walks she’ll prowl the night;
July, she will fly
And give no warning to her flight.

August, die she must,
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold;
September I’ll remember.
A love once new has now grown old.

If you, like me, love the feeling of newness that September brings, why not try one of my Freedom to Create courses to start you off on the right foot!
