Interesting discussions today on art, public art, regeneration and consultation. Contemporary art. Confidence. Art for arts sake. (the point? Or missing the potential?)

It made me think about what kind of artist I am. I am interested in aesthetics and ideas, but have yet to find a way of tying them together (apart from maybe animation) I have always preferred work that I find visually interesting, but that made me think/feel. Not interested in just ideas or just technique.

I would like to explore interesting ideas and imagery but also to inspire.

Different art is relevant to different people. If it alienates one group but inspires another, is that bad? Does it depend on how much one group is alienated?

I think as long as it inspires just one person then the art becomes worthy.
